what to bring

The more prepared you are, the less regrets you will have once you arrive. Check out the following lists for your packing preparation:

Useful community items

Travelling from your home country to Cameroon is a great opportunity to bring some essential items that could mean so much to the community you will be working in. After you arrive the chances of receiving supplies diminish due to import duties and corruption in the postal service. Bringing items with you when you come can ensure that your donation will definitely get to the people who really need it.

Materials you could bring for the school and children:

  • reading books in English (Berudep Library)
  • study books in English
  • pens and colours, coloured paper, water paint, wool
  • toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • any kind of educative or study material

Material you could bring for the (eye) clinic :

  • eye glasses
  • medicines (if you have any access please contact us first)
  • medical device (ei direct ophtalmoscope, tronometer schiotz and retino scope - for the eye clinic)

Material you could bring for the office :

  • cell phones (with a SIM card)
  • calculators, pens and pencils, staples, paperclips, markers
  • laptop, mouse, USB device, MP3
  • ink cartridges for HP Deskjet 500 or Canon Bubble jet BJ200

If you are considering posting or sending supplies please check with BERUDEP first as there may be ways to ensure your goods reach their destination intact and without fees.
